Research area
I have worked for the past 20 years as a public health adviser and scientist within the area of tropical infectious disease control and research – especially in African settings. This includes the management of evidence-based prevention, treatment and health promotion projects targeting acute and chronic infections.

Scientific disciplines covered in the projects include immunology, parasitology, epidemiology, public health and health systems research. The promotion of civil society engagement, policy advocacy and institutional capacity building are important guiding principles in my work.

I am going to use my professional experience to develop new interdisciplinary approaches to health promotion and prevention of chronic diseases such as diabetes in local settings in Denmark as well as internationally.
